The Honey Do Service, Inc Wilmington

I do NOT recommend this company. They were hired to repair a fence gate, repair and paint my mailbox and power wash my house, porches and sidewalk. My mailbox is peeling and the striped my driveway and porches and my house has mold on it. I’ve repeatedly sent emails, calls and letter for repairs only to be promised a day to correct everything then they didn’t show up. I’ve called and ask to be refunded 2/3 of my payment but have received nothing. I warned them I would be posting this.

TEN STARS to Honey Do service, excellent craftsmanship from Sean. Worked performed, moving existing base cabinets, re-plump kitchen sink, electrical, build and close off back side of cabinets with bead board, finish framing kitchen wall, installed a microwave. His work was professional, attention to detail, came on time, cleaned up afterwards. Working with Scott the owner for the quote was easy, and fairly priced. Refreshing to work with company that is honest and reliable. We had to wait several weeks for our countertop to come in so unfortunately we couldn’t get Sean back to complete the rest, because he was tied up with another project, however they sent Kevin who was equally as good. He put in our garbage disposal, hooked up our dishwasher, connected our faucet and installed a sliding garbage container under sink. I highly recommend, Honey Do Service, already sent them another customer.

Scott and Brian with The Honey Do service of Wilmington installed a front porch railing for us so that we could spend and enjoy time out there with our two pups. We presented them with our idea and they helped us iron out the logistics, work out the details and suggested some better options based off their expertise. We were so impressed with their craftsmanship and attention to detail. They even set it up to paint it for us a head of time which saved us much time and agony. They followed our design precisely and we couldn’t be more pleased. We have already recommended them to all of our neighbors and other people who pass by admiring the work!

Used for a soft spot in bathroom floor, replace toilet valve and water damagws baseboard. Was easy and quick to schedule estimate, job scheduled and job was completed in one day. Very reasonably prices and extra efforr was put into the job. Will use again for home projects and would reccommend.

Hired them to do 7 jobs in our home and they only completed 3 out of 6 completely, 2 out of 6 were incomplete/partially wrong, and 2 out of 6 were not done at all. The 2 that were not done at all are because we did not let them come back because of poor quality of work, poor time management, and terrible communication. We waited almost a month from the time we got our estimate for them to come out. The first day went well, but the following day the guy used the wrong paint on shoe molding that we were told they would replace instead of paint, but he just grabs white paint and only paints one section of the molding and leaves without saying a word. He painted our ceiling, but left spots that were not painted/blended around the lights. They were supposed to paint the front of our house, but claimed it was too hot to paint outside and that’s why they were going to start inside. When we called after the second day when they left without saying anything and didn’t even finish the inside, we were told that there were people ahead of us and they were unsure when they could get back to us. After two more phone calls, the office manager said they could return this week to finish the inside, but was unsure when they would be able to do the outside. This would have been a third day with them working on the inside with one of those days with them leaving at lunch time. I could not stay home again for them to come. I had already stayed home two days for them to complete work and they didn’t even finish working because they only worked until lunch the second day. Half of my day was wasted! We paid $1200.00 down and were to pay another $1200.00 at the completion of the work. We spoke with the owner, Scott Brown and requested part of our down payment back since they did not finish. He was dishonest and refused, stating he charges $800.00 per day. That’s not true because when you do the math, it would’ve taken more than three days to complete everything at the speed they were going. And all this was after he requested pictures to show some of the areas in our home that were not completed or done incorrectly (see attached). I cannot stress enough that The Honey Do Service, Inc. of Wilmington NC franchise is unorganized (costing the client both time and money), has terrible communication, and performs incomplete services. Please be warned, you would be better off hiring a person that specializes in whatever you need done, because this one-stop-shop doesn’t have quality work in all areas the way they portray they do and the owner does not live up to his “accountability, transparency, and warrantied work” that his website claims he does!

Got a quote for a exterior spigot replacement. A quote for worst case scenario was $500. On day of appointment the work that was done much less then expected. The owner adjusted the total for work done at an extremely valuable rate. Excellent work and professionalism. More places need to business this way. Thank you to Scott, a true stand up guy. Walter was tasked with completing two jobs at my home. He did an amazing job and was very courteous. Scott, Brent and Walter were all very professional and pleasant to work with. They make a great team!
